Main Purpose of Job: To ensure that all guests are welcomed and acknowledged when they arrive to the bar & restaurant and are served efficiently, courteously and to the set standard of the department.
Main Responsibilities
Bar and Restaurant Operations
* Welcoming and acknowledging all customers to the bar and restaurant
* Supporting in the training of new employees
* Offering new ideas and suggestions to improve customer experience
* Providing excellent customer service at all times
* Taking food and beverage orders from guests
* Serving food and beverages to guests
* Clearing and resetting tables
* Ensuring presentation standards are consistently achieved
* Following all cash handling procedures
* Using Micros to ensure that guests are billed correctly and to take payments
* Polishing cutlery
* Carrying out all cleaning tasks as outlined by your supervisor / manager
* Routine cleaning of designated areas such as changing rooms and staff canteens as required
* Communicating relevant information with colleagues and other departments in a professional manner
Customer Service
* To provide an efficient and friendly service to guests at all times
* To follow the Mespil Hotel key standards at all times
* To handle any guest requests as required
* To maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both hotel guests and your colleagues
Health and Safety
* To abide by the hotels health, safety and environmental procedures.
* To report any health, safety or environmental hazards within the hotel
* To report any accidents, incidents and near misses that arise while on duty
Presentation and Grooming
* Wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times while on duty
* Ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times
Other Duties
* Attending any relevant training courses as required
* Option of serving on hotel committees when required
* Carrying out any other duties as directed by the Management
* Assisting when necessary in other departments.
* Contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
Qualifications And Skills
* Minimum 1 years experience as a Bartender in a similar premises.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems like Micros.
* High standards of personal presentation and grooming.
Working Conditions
* This role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* The position involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting and carrying items.
