Key Responsibilities:
1. As scrum master, you will be responsible for contributing to the Agile delivery of IT Projects and Products on our Financial Services client sites.
2. As the servant leader of your team, you will be responsible for retrospectives, planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and protecting the team from interruptions during sprints.
3. You will be responsible for managing dependencies with other teams and escalating decisions that cannot be resolved at agreed governance forums/ceremonies, leveraging your Financial Services domain knowledge and experience as necessary.
4. You will be responsible for driving Agile cultural and continuous improvement initiatives within your team and supporting wider Agile Ways of Working initiatives on client sites.
5. Develop team members through effective listening, coaching, and mentoring.
6. Understand our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients.
7. Participate in presentations and proposals for medium complex projects or elements of highly complex projects.
Internal Responsibilities:
1. You’ll be responsible for contributing to proposals and client presentations for complex IT delivery projects.
2. Be responsible for your own self-development and maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills.
3. Actively contribute to EY’s Agile Community of practice.
4. Understand all our consulting service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients and be able to build meaningful external relationships with our clients and internal relationships across service lines.
5. Drawing on your skills and experience, you’ll create innovative insights for clients looking to adopt Agile as a means of project/product delivery.
6. To lead Technology Consulting engagements and support in managing team performance and commercials.
7. Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures.
To qualify for the role you must have:
1. A strong academic record including a third level degree, preferably in a technical/IT related discipline, from a recognised third level institution.
2. Additional professional qualifications, such as Scrum Master, SAFe or Diploma Level in Agile Project Management or similar discipline from a recognised third level institution or accreditation body.
3. Must possess strong experience within the Payments Industry.
4. At least 5 years’ experience working in a banking client facing role for a leading consulting or professional services company in delivery of large-scale complex change/transformation programmes or systems integration programmes or at least 7 years’ experience working for an EU/UK Financial Services company/Bank, in delivery of large-scale complex change/transformation programmes or systems integration programmes.
5. Experience in the EU/UK Financial Services sector Retail Banking, Payments, Credit, Mortgages.
6. Hands-on experience in Scrum acting in a Scrum Master role and working with Agile methods for software delivery Scrum, SAFE, Kanban, Lean.
7. Proven skills in effectively coaching, mentoring and motivating a cross functional Agile team (consisting of PO, Developers and QA) to improve the pace and evolve delivery practices.
8. Knowledge of modern software delivery methods and technologies TDD, CI/CD tooling and cloud.
9. A proven ability to lead and deliver software projects/products in a fast-paced environment.
10. Have a structured approach to problem solving and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently managing your own workload with an attention to detail.
11. Be able to manage different stakeholders across the project you work on.
12. Have a proven ability to be able to take a ‘big picture’ delivery and a project management view as well as being able to work at a detailed level across a broad range of contract types and engagement approaches.
13. Excellent communication skills – tailoring communications to suit a mix of audiences and ability to translate strategy into measurable business benefits.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
1. Additional non-agile specific accreditation and practitioner experience of a range of Project Management approaches including PRINCE2, PMI, PMOBOK etc. or Masters Level in Project Management or similar discipline from a recognised third level institution.
2. Excellent presentation skills.
3. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
