As the Assistant Store Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, managing staff, overseeing inventory, and ensuring the smooth running of the store.
Responsibilities:
1. Be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the store.
2. Manage a team and assist the Store Manager.
3. Achieve sales targets as agreed with management.
4. Ensure a strong gross profit margin.
5. Ensure your management team is effective, organized, and achieving success.
6. Utilize merchandising skills to upsell.
7. Mentor and lead by example.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a retail management role, preferably within the grocery sector.
2. Strong leadership and communication skills.
3. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering a positive experience.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
5. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
