Assistant Project Manager – International Energy Research
Programme Executive - International Energy Research
This is an exciting opportunity in the International Energy Research Team looking at Offshore Energy, Electricity & Wind, Research coordination, developing solutions for decarbonising Ireland’s energy system. The R&D Dept find evidence to help energy policy decision making; inform & support energy research contributes to public info on sustainable energy.This position will play a key role in the following: -
* Coordination of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) including document prep.
* Managing the Task Participant Agreement process on an annual basis, including periodic review of the agreements.
* Develop new SOPs (operating procedures) & updating existing ones.
* Tracking activity expenditure & analysis of meeting & annual reports from TCPs.
* Share insights, including creation & publication of case studies, & best practice events.
* Manage dedicated mailbox, int/external queries & communication with others
* Maintain & update information on the website on a regular basis.
* Ensure that activity peaks covered with flexibility in terms of working hours at times
Knowledge & Skills
* Proven organisation & project mgt. skills including the ability to prioritise work, manage a wide variety of tasks & manage multiple competing deadlines.
* A proactive approach to achieving quality results, including managing scope, time, risk assessment, & cost.
* Proven ability to clearly communicate technical information to technical & non-technical audiences & deliver presentations in a clear & engaging manner.
* Can build positive working relationship with colleagues & external stakeholders; to work in multi-disciplinary teams & to work transparently & effectively.
* Work on own initiative, set deadlines & work effectively to those deadlines.
* Well-developed IT skills in MS-Office packages, e.g., Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint etc.
* Can identify gaps & suggest improvements to reports, analysis, data collection, & procedures.
* Degree in science, engineering, business or policy
* Min 3 years’ relevant work experience.
* Knowledge or exp of the energy sector
* Proven attention to detail & ability to meet deadlines.
* excellent team-player that produces quality work in a timely manner.
* Exp. Team working, managing projects with diverse int/external stakeholders.
* Excellent comms skills & presentation skills
Ideally:
* Knowledge of energy research to influence policy
* Analysing & synthesising technical information & communicating learnings to int/external audiences.
* Facilitating & delivering information sharing, capacity building or knowledge transfer events &/or workshops.
* An understanding of public sector administration.
