Transportation Sr Program Manager, MX ATS Surface Transportation
At Amazon we believe that every day is day one; a day to take the first step and face new challenges. Today you have the chance to be a part of something great. A day to make your ideas come true and a day to join a company that redefines itself every day. That is the energy and passion behind Amazon.
Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for a Sr Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional operational and technology projects and programs within the MX Transit and distance Authority (TADA) and Route Planning for Surface Transportation programs; with a track record of operational excellence to drive scalability, ensuring strong processes and culture are developed. This person will work in areas of the business with a high degree of ambiguity that require a great deal of thought leadership. The role will provide opportunities to think big, develop original ideas, and partner with Transportation Planning, Fulfillment Experience, Operations and business expansion teams to develop a strategic approach to scale ATS Operations. This role challenges tactical and operational issues that will require a deep analysis of our distribution network, hands-on problem solving mentality and a tenacity to execute solutions that will impact short term and long term operations. You will closely work with and involve functional teams to achieve best in class solutions. You will drive performance measures, find solutions to complex logistics problems, pursue strategic, and operational initiatives by managing innovation projects together across our constantly expanding Mexico’s Transportation Network.
Key job responsibilities

2. Provide transit time data to support the use cases of various teams, including Network Planning, Scheduling, and Route Planning.
3. Design Mexico Route planning network to ascertain which routes are the most cost-speed effective when moving from one place to another considering Amazon 3P carriers dedicated fleet to maximize truck utilization and critical path planning.
4. Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impacts from third-party solutions, security not considered, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.)
5. Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
6. Develop, implement, and KPI reporting providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across Warehouse Transportation Operations and projects.
