The Role:
The Portfolio team supports the effective management of the delivery of the IDD investment programme by ensuring governance and control through data management and systems, processes and performance reporting and analysis including the management of planning, land, wayleave, utility, and statutory consents. This enables efficient delivery of the investment programme by providing programme visibility, informed risk management, analysis, challenge, and decision making. The team also provides expert support in key areas that enable the effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of the IDD investment portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Project Controls Senior Manager, the Scheduling Manager is responsible for leading a team to ensure the integrity and management of information on the portfolio of work within Infrastructure Delivery which will be used to inform key strategic delivery decisions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management and updating of system information (Primavera, Maximo, etc.) on the portfolio to enable effective management of projects against budget, schedule, risk, cost and output.
Oversee the processes to establish, maintain and control baseline cost loaded schedules for the delivery portfolio to ensure consistency within the team.
Oversee and control any changes to baselines, budgets, etc. including maintaining the central change control log and ensuring full sign off for any changes.
Drive the process to manage the production of schedule performance data and KPI’s for project progression and provide information to support delivery portfolio performance reporting.
Ensure the maintenance of contingency records and provision of information to support delivery portfolio risk management.
Manage the team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information maintained on delivery portfolio performance regarding the lifecycle of projects, programmes, and the portfolio.
Manage a team of Project Scheduling Leads including the production and maintenance of the system update process and implementing schedule standards.
Drive the development of efficiency tracking and reporting across the delivery portfolio aligned to the established efficiency strategy.
Establish and maintain a monthly governance and reporting cycle and support the other teams in the development of reports.
Set and ensure maintenance of standards for reporting including the compliance of reporting standards by our delivery partners.
Ensure the provision of Primavera P6 “super-user” capability support, and act as a focal point for addressing technical issues.
Driving an adaptable and flexible approach to change, innovation, and continuous improvement in the team, leading by example and ensuring all team members understand the role that they play in delivering change.
Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Demonstrable experience of end-to-end portfolio delivery is required, with particular experience in the area of portfolio planning on a significant scale.
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience.
Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff.
Experience managing a large team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills.
Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
Experience of supporting policies, systems and controls and driving the implementation of progressive policies.
You will have a proven track record in leadership, change transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environment
Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
