A reputable and expanding pharmaceutical company is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Manager to take charge of its AP function. This role presents an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic finance team, overseeing a high-performing AP department and driving process enhancements in a fast-paced, regulated setting.
The role will be responsible for leading the AP team, ensuring the efficient handling of supplier payments, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute to financial reporting, system improvements, and internal controls while identifying opportunities to optimise processes and boost efficiency.
The Role:
* Lead and manage the AP team providing mentorship, training, and performance reviews.
* Manage the deployment of a new AP invoice management system, overseeing process evaluation, system setup, SAP integration, and employee training.
* Oversee invoice processing, supplier payments, and ensure adherence to company policies and financial controls.
* Continuously seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the AP function.
* Maintain compliance with financial reporting standards, VAT regulations, and internal and external audit obligations.
* Develop and maintain internal controls while ensuring appropriate segregation of duties and approval processes.
* Support month-end and year-end closing processes by verifying and maintaining accurate AP balances.
The Person:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in an AP leadership role, preferably in a large or complex organisation.
* Strong proficiency in SAP.
* Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop teams.
* Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
* Strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
* Experience in process improvement and system implementation.
