Project Engineer
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will be employed within the Project Management Department, reporting directly to the Project Managers.
The role involves working on various crane projects, requiring occasional business travel within Ireland and overseas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist and support the projects department in delivering crane and crane-related projects worldwide.
* Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and their representatives to progress projects efficiently.
* Analyze client contract requirements and liaise with Design and Sales departments to clarify technical specifications.
* Attend project meetings, ensuring accurate recording of meeting minutes and updating project schedules as necessary.
* Collaborate with installation project managers to prepare crane installation and service projects, including labor and equipment planning.
* Liaise with site personnel, appointed subcontractors, and other departments to ensure project schedules are met.
* Project scheduling from contract signing to final crane handover.
* Liaise directly with 3rd party inspectors regarding crane design, manufacturing, and onsite installation.
* Prepare documentation and files for the project team.
* Plan, schedule, and agree project time frames and deadlines with customers, including technical conditions.
* FOLLOW UP ON CRANE INSTALLATION WORKS, FOCUSING ON COSTINGS AND PROGRESS CONTROL TO MEET SCHEDULED DATES.
* Maintain a positive client experience through direct communication and site visits.
* Provide technical advice and collaborate with production and design departments as needed.
* Record issues on site, including root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
* Closing punch list items with site supervisors, design engineers, and project engineers.
Requirements / Competencies:
* A suitable qualification or trade in a relevant discipline or suitable experience (Engineering is preferred).
* Self-motivated individual with management capabilities.
* Manufacturing background is desirable.
* Proven track record of working with stakeholders to coordinate, plan, execute, and track projects.
* Ability to take initiative and personal responsibility.
* Service-minded, customer-focused, and team player with strong leadership skills.
* Willingness to travel overseas for extended periods, as required.
* Microsoft Office experience across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Good verbal and written communication in English.
