Job Description:
We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the above position in our Garden Centre. Candidates must be highly motivated, creative with experience/interest in gardening maintenance. This is a part-time 15 hour position average per week on a Community Services Programme which is funded by Pobal through the Department of Rural & Community Development.
Pobal is an intermediary that works on behalf of the Government to support communities and local agencies towards achieving social inclusion, reconciliation and equality.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* The implementation of standards and procedures under the Health and Safety Regulations.
* List stock requirements and stock control. Ensure all stock on show is of high quality, well presented and well merchandised (i.e. properly labelled and priced).
* Protection and maintenance of all buildings, plant, machinery and stocks relating to the Garden Centre.
* Always ensuring adequate plant care and maintenance of grounds, lawn, hedging etc., of all areas of the service i.e. day & residential service areas.
* The holder of the post will be requested to participate in weekend rotas for duties at St. Aidan's Services Garden Centre, as deemed necessary by the Community Services Programme Manager.
* All duties will be carried out with a particular awareness of Health and Safety at Work in relation to not only yourself, but also those we support in our services, your staff colleagues and other people in any of the locations.
* Such other duties relating to the above as may be required for the satisfactory operation of the Garden Centre together with such other duties as may be required in relation to the general Garden Centre business of St. Aidan's Services.
* To carry out garden maintenance in the local area. Duties to include grass cutting, hedge cutting and general garden maintenance.

Qualification/Requirements:
* Applicants must have experience/interest in Gardening Maintenance
* Full clean driving licence
