Location:
The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e.
Grangegorman (Parkhouse), Blanchardstown or Tallaght.
Hours of Work:
A 37 hour working week is in operation.
Salary:
The successful candidate will be appointed the salary scale aligned to point (01) of the Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale i.e.
€47,412 gross per annum, depending on qualification and experience.
Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
Incremental credit may apply in line with University policy.

A PhD in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field OR At least 5-10 additional years of specialised professional experience in hardware research and development, system design, or leadership in complex engineering projects, on top of the primary experience requirement (Essential).
Extensive experience of at least 3 years in designing and developing electronic hardware, particularly for sensor systems or IoT applications, with proficiency in PCB design and the development of low-power embedded systems, including expertise in wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, LoRa) (Essential).
Demonstrated expertise through industry projects or publications of environmental sensor technologies (Essential).
Experience with rapid prototyping methods, including 3D printing, and familiarity with working in a fast-paced R&D environment, in both laboratory and field (Essential).

Desirable Experience working with IP-rated hardware, particularly in terms of waterproofing and environmental protection for outdoor deployments (Desirable).
Experience in structural health monitoring or similar industries focused on infrastructure and civil engineering (Desirable).
Experience in firmware development for embedded systems and experience with integration between hardware and software platforms (Desirable).
Familiarity with low-power design strategies and power management (e.g., battery/solar power) for remote or off-grid sensor deployments (Desirable).
