The Role:
Key Responsibilities for this role:
1. Involvement in second line Operational Risk Management activities supporting implementation and operation of RCSA process; Incident Management and follow up; and the continuous improvement of the Risk & Control environment for PIA.
2. Activities involved in the execution of second line Risk Assurance Reviews carrying out relevant investigations and reviewing evidence of activities to identify control weaknesses or gaps in order to have these strengthened. Providing input to reports on same focussing on material items of exposure and tracking actions to conclusion.
3. Contribute to the production of quarterly Risk Reporting and other outputs as required.
4. Support colleagues within the Risk Function as we continue to develop and enhance PIA’s Risk Management Framework and Culture.
5. Participate as required in the team’s engagement with Auditors, Peer Reviewers, and the CBI.
6. Action tracking, monitoring and reporting on all matters overseen by Risk Management
7. Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability for the quality of deliverables that you are responsible for, to support improvement of the overall risk and control environment, customer outcomes and management of PIA’s risks against Risk Appetite.
8. Develop a strong collaborative network with peers and colleagues across the busines.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
9. At least 3 years’ experience working in Life Insurance in Line 1 or Line 2 Operational Risk & Control related roles.
10. Experience working in Operational Risk Management is advantageous;
11. A good grounding in ERM theory or practices, and a good understanding of core Risk Management Concepts.
12. This role may suit Student Actuaries, other Risk Professionals who wish to continue to develop skills in this area;
13. Awareness and ideally practical knowledge of Solvency II, CBI framework and other relevant regulations;
14. Ability to build networks and work effectively with colleagues across the business;
15. Collaborative nature, with ability to work effectively with the colleagues in Risk, Operations and other key functions within PIA and across the Group;
16. Good analytic skills, with an ability to identify and prioritise material issues and actions;
17. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential;
18. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team player;
19. Self-motivated with an ability to actively manage your time, multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

20. Recently established or developing professional providing administrative support and basic analysis in an area of specialisation and implementing various risk management activities in this area.
21. Develop an understanding of relevant systems and policies within the Risk Function.
22. Investigate and identify sources of data as well as select and implement statistical techniques for risk analysis.
23. May contribute to the development and implementation of the risk profile and risk management strategy and provide information for management.
24. May support business managers in the identification of risks and the development of indicators that form the basis of risk management.
25. Work on various projects with support and guidance from more senior colleagues.
26. Possess theoretical knowledge, relevant experience and some expertise within areas of Risk Management, and knowledge of the processes and policies operated in this area.
27. Be recently qualified and still developing professional expertise.
