Lincoln Academy, in Newcastle, Maine seeks a full-time Special Education teacher for the school year.
Founded in 1801, Lincoln Academy is an independent Town Academy deeply rooted in the midcoast communities of central Lincoln County.
For 220 years we have served as an educational center for students from more than 15 towns in the region.
In addition to our local students, the school enrolls up to 55 international and domestic boarding students.

Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team of educators.
In this role, you will be responsible for instructing groups of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Your primary tasks will involve adapting the existing curriculum in core subjects such as math and writing to accommodate the individual learning needs of each student.
You will create personalized lesson plans tailored to their specific requirements.
Additionally, you will collaborate with parents and support staff to address any significant factors that may hinder students' progress.
Your ultimate goal will be to provide guidance and inspiration to help students achieve important learning milestones.
Responsibilities Assess students' abilities and create teaching plansAdapt learning materials to students' needsKeep track of and reflect on students' progressMonitor students' behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if neededFind engaging activities to teach skillsManage classroom crises and resolve conflictInform parents about their students' performance and potential problemsCollaborate with the support staff (e.g.
