Childrens Health Ireland (CHI) is currently building one of the biggest childrens hospitals is Europe.
It will amalgamate the tertiary and quaternary national services currently spread over two sites (Crumlin and Temple Street) onto a new and purpose built site.
We have a PICU on each site providing a combined number of 32 PICU beds.
We provide all the specialist services you would expect to see at a world class paediatric hospital including cardiac surgery and ECLS, neurosurgery, maxillo-facial and renal transplant to name a few.
We are a recognised training centre for paediatric anaesthesiology and paediatric critical care.
Description The Paediatric Critical Care posts are ideally suited to trainees with backgrounds in Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology or Emergency Medicine.
This is ideal for those wishing to consolidate and broaden their experience of management of critically ill children.
For anaesthesiology trainees, theatre time may be incorporated to allow a post fulfil the anaesthesiology paediatric training requirements.
Our theatre department manages 14,500 cases per annum and our PICU caters for all specialities including cardiology and cardiac surgery, general surgery, ENT and all tertiary medical specialties.
The units accept over 1500 admissions per year and is one of the largest PICUs in Europe.
The successful applicants will be working equally as part of a team of Specialist Registrars/Clinical Fellows.
The department runs an extensive teaching programme with participation in the active research and audit programmes expected.
Every effort is made to cater to the training needs of the individual.
Minimum standards: Must be a qualified doctor registered with the IMC Must have at least 3 years experience working in paediatrics or anaesthesiology Must have academic IELTS (dated within the last 2 years) with an overall band score of 7.0 and a minimum score of 6.5 in each module (or equivalent) Completed memberships preferred Childrens Health Ireland are inviting applications for the following posts commencing Monday, 14th July 2025 Registrar in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit The salary scale linked to these positions is €66,872 to €78,748.
Entry point will be in line with HSE incremental credit guidelines.
