Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineering Technician to join our team at Hays Life Sciences, working closely with our multinational medical device client in Galway.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical ownership of equipment and processes, focusing on yield and downtime metrics, with clear communication and escalation of critical events.
* Supporting efficient changeovers through continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtimes.
* Ensuring the completion of preventative maintenance tasks to optimize equipment performance.
* Effective management of spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
* Designing jigs and fixtures to meet manufacturing requirements and driving process improvements.
* Maintaining site safety standards by identifying and reporting hazards.
Requirements for Success
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.
* Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining flexibility.
* Hands-on approach to diagnosing and resolving manufacturing issues.
* Systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for technical issues.
* Previous trade experience (Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic) or NFQ Level 6 in a Technical Discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Electrical).
