Deputy Social Care Manager, Under 18's Residential Services (Full Time)

Job Description
As a Deputy Social Care Manager, you will be part of a team providing support and therapeutic care to young people aged 15-17 in a short to medium term residential setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead a team in adhering to the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres.
2. Effectively respond to the changing needs and challenges of the client group.
3. Attend meetings and represent the team at external liaisons.
4. Provide a safe welcoming environment for young people aged 15-17 who are out of home.
5. Work in close co-operation with other teams in Focus Ireland and Statutory and Voluntary Agencies.
6. Oversee daily logs, case notes and other information as required by the National Standards.
7. Participate in daily handovers and facilitate the smooth day-to-day running of the unit.
8. Share supervision of staff members with the Manager.
9. Be responsible for conducting performance reviews and monitoring staff performance.
10. Implement policies and procedures of the centre and the agency in collaboration with the Manager and Head of Youth Services.
11. Engage in supervision sessions with the Manager on a regular basis.
Requirements
1. A third level qualification at degree level in social care or related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years full-time work experience at social care grade with children/young persons.
3. A working knowledge of the impact of childhood adversity on adolescents.
4. A working knowledge and insight into the issues affecting young people, particularly adolescents who have or are experiencing homelessness.
5. Ability to manage and support young people in crisis based upon Focus Ireland's values and principles of best practice.
6. Experience of working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams to holistically meet the needs of young people.
7. A high standard of written communication.
