Cyber Ireland is seeking to appoint a Project Assistant to support the activities under the Building the Community focus area, working with the Programme Coordinator and reporting to the Cluster Manager.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for running two special interest groups (SIGs):
The CISO Forum provides a community of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and security leads in Ireland to share information, discuss common challenges and solutions, meet peers, and connect to international forums.
The Operational Technology Cybersecurity (OTSec) SIG provides a forum for industry end-users, integrators, and vendors to share information, best practices, and support capability building in operational technology cyber security across organisations and sectors.
The Project Assistant will support the Programme Coordinator in managing Cyber Ireland’s membership, including onboarding of new members and the annual renewal process. They will also provide support to the activities under the Business Growth Focus Area as required.
The candidate will ideally have strong project management, organisation, and communication skills. Experience in working with industry, managing relationships, and organising events would be an advantage.
Some travel will be required from time to time, and assistance at events hosted by Cyber Ireland will be communicated in advance.
Duties of the Post:
In terms of key responsibilities, the list below indicates the scope of the role. Other tasks and responsibilities may emerge as the role develops:
1. Support the Programme Coordinator to deliver on operational tasks in the day-to-day running of the cluster’s programme of activities to support industry.
2. Manage the Cyber Ireland CISO Forum working with the CISO Leads, recruiting and managing members, organising regularly in-person and online meetings and events, engaging with other relevant groups, and partnering with the ECSO European CISO Community.
3. Manage the Cyber Ireland OTSec SIG working with the OTSec Leads, recruiting and managing members, organising regularly in-person and online meetings and events, engaging with other relevant groups, and partnering with ISA Ireland.
4. Support membership management including managing the membership database, onboarding of new members, and managing the annual membership renewals.
5. Support the delivery of Business Growth activities.
6. Email Marketing: Plan and execute email marketing campaigns and the monthly newsletter. Manage the mailing list, keeping it updated and segmenting specific target audiences.
7. Tracking of progress and KPIs of cluster activities.
Qualification Requirements and Selection Criteria for role:
Essential:
1. An appropriate third-level qualification – primary honours degree (level 8) or equivalent from a recognised degree awarding authority.
2. At least 2 years postgraduate or industry experience.
3. Strong project management experience with a proven ability to set and achieve measurable goals.
4. Be well-organised and work to strict deadlines, with the ability to manage and prioritise different, and sometimes conflicting workloads.
5. Demonstrated strong networking skills.
6. Ability to grow relationships based on delivering value to all partners and a flexible and adaptable approach to responding to stakeholder needs.
7. An effective communicator with good inter-personal skills to work with all levels of organisations.
8. Ability to work effectively on own initiative and in a team environment.
9. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Proficient in both verbal and written English.
11. Excellent level of IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
1. Event organisation experience.
2. Experience with relevant platforms such as customer relationship management (CRM), web content management, or email marketing.
No experience in the cyber security sector is required.
