EMPLOYMENT ASSOCIATE – DUBLIN
Brief
We are currently seeking to recruit an Associate to the Employment and Reward Group in our Dublin office.
Background
Our global Employment and Reward Group has over 100 employment lawyers across our offices in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, and Asia Pacific. Our exceptionally well-resourced team of employment specialists advise clients on local employment law issues and collaborate on multijurisdictional projects.
We act as trusted advisors to several leading FTSE blue chip organisations (in Ireland, the UK and internationally). Our clients rely upon us to help them not only with technical legal issues but also to act as true business partners, understanding the challenges and opportunities within their respective sectors and businesses.
We pride ourselves on being commercially aware, pragmatic, and responsive. We provide our clients with innovative commercial solutions to the various legal conundrums which confront them. Our approach has resulted in us developing long term relationships and partnerships with clients, many of which are household name companies.
Our Dublin office advises domestic and international clients on contentious and non-contentious matters. Our work regularly involves an international dimension, and we collaborate with our colleagues in our international offices. For example, we regularly advise clients on cross border information and consultation and global mobility. Our Dublin office also advises clients in relation to executive level employment law issues such as senior level recruitment and termination, executive compensation arrangements, bonus claims, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. We also assist clients with day-to-day employment queries, such as managing sickness absences, dealing with bullying allegations, restructuring, TUPE, corporate immigration and defending employee claims.
The Candidate Required
The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced employment lawyer having trained in either a top tier Irish firm or international firm. The role will involve providing day-to-day legal advice to HR professionals and in-house legal teams in client organisations. It will also involve litigation (Workplace Relations Commission and High Court) and workplace investigations (for example, supporting our white collar crime team with the HR aspects of regulatory investigations). In addition to the contentious practice, we also have a thriving non-contentious practice, and the successful candidate would also have the opportunity to advise on the employment law issues arising in M&A, outsourcing and various day-to-day employment law issues.
The Employment & Reward Group are increasingly engaging with clients on strategic projects such as global change management exercises, reward philosophy projects and gender pay gap reporting. The firm's recent acquisition of Brook Graham further enhances our offering to clients.
Candidates will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality. Candidates must be technically excellent, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. They will also be a team player with excellent communication skills and a desire to be involved in business development.
As well as having the experience mentioned above, the candidate should be:
* ambitious and enthusiastic about employment law and winning new clients;
* a team player who can work with different teams and lawyers across the firm;
* keen to work in a growing and ambitious international firm.
The Opportunity
* The very best national and international work.
* Early responsibility and opportunities to develop client relationships.
* Genuine long-term career prospects supported through our "best in class" training and our Academy personal development programmes.
