Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Description
This role is a key position in our team, responsible for managing construction projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, material, and specialist requirements.
* Prepare enquiry documents, source materials and subcontractors, negotiate prices, and complete orders.
* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare sub-contractor packs.
* Complete monthly valuations, record additional works items, and provide cost analysis.
* Liaise with clients to agree rates and variations.
* Measure works according to contract-specific schedules of rates.
* Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts within agreed timescales.
* Work closely with management and accounts to ensure accurate cost management.
* Provide accurate and robust monthly reports for management and client progress meetings.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, or related discipline.
* Applicants with HND/HNC or relevant experience may also be considered.
* Working knowledge of PWC contracts.
* At least 2 years of experience in estimating/quantity surveying within a main contracting organisation.
* Excellent commercial acumen, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
* Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
