The Roles
In the Light Rail Vehicle department (fleet), the Assistant to Multi-Skilled Technician (AMST) is responsible for assisting the Multi-skilled Technicians (MST) perform maintenance tasks on the vehicles.
Responsibilities:
1. Main duties will include but are not limited to; supporting MST’s and MTM in achieving production plans by shunting trams within depot limits, operating forklifts, gantry cranes, lifting equipment, travelling between depots to deliver / collect parts as required by MTM’s, workshop and stores upkeep, washing and preparation of parts such as bogies, and assisting Depot Manager in closing out Depot Safety / Quality tour actions
2. Maintain Depot Stores by collecting parts requested from other depots and storing them appropriately. Accept deliveries into the depot and storing and recording parts delivered as per company standards: delivery Notes, repair loop parts, goods in, goods out, etc. Assisting Stores Department with Stock level checks / investigating discrepancies. Assisting and recording allocation of parts as per MTM, MST, Depot manager requests. Assisting stores with refilling of Workshop Kanban’s. Process weekly delivery of repair / overhaul items to Repair Bay or other vendors
3. To provide maintenance related support activities to assist the MST’s meet production requirements in accordance with specified company Quality and Health & Safety Procedures
4. Follow all established company and safety procedures, good housekeeping practices and utilise safety / depot equipment as required
5. Participate fully in all training courses provided in an aim to become competent to the required level as to fulfil the duties of this position
6. Attend and participate in daily Start of Shift / End of Shift briefing sessions and assist experienced staff as part of your future development
7. Erecting Scaffold towers and working at height will be required for this role
8. Ensure that you comply and make yourself available for all training as offered by the company
9. To adopt the Ways of Working (WOW) Behaviours in your day to day working, as per Transdev Guidelines
10. To undertake any other duties as specified by the Fleet Lead Technician, Maintenance Team Manager or Depot Manager.
Experience:
11. Leaving Certificate
12. Safety Awareness
13. Superb attention to detail and drive to deliver to the highest standards
14. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
15. Working to strict deadlines
16. Full Clean Driving Licence
17. Sense of urgency. Approaches all tasks with a view to completing them in the most efficient and effective manner, while bearing in mind the target timeframe
18. Working as part of a team with 2 years’ experience
19. Proven ability to deliver set objectives on time
20. Adaptability and Flexibility is essential
21. Experience working in Motor trade / Warehouse background desirable
Working hours : Monday to Sunday (39hr Contract) – 07.00 – 18.10 on a 4 day on / 4 day off shift rotation. Weekend Work applies.
Work location: The main location will be Broombridge. But you could be assigned to one of the 3 LUAS depots. Travel between the depots is to be expected

Salary Scale: €36.340,92 per year (including shift allowances)
