Medical Advisor Hybrid/Remote Full-time
In 2020, the Department of Justice was designated to administer the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS). The scheme opened for applications in 2021 from individuals with permanent physical or psychological injuries caused by a Troubles-Related Incident.
The purpose of the scheme is to acknowledge the harm suffered by those injured in the Troubles and promote reconciliation between people in connection with Northern Ireland's troubled past.
Key Responsibilities:
* Auditing clinical assessments and providing feedback to front-line assessors
* Taking part in multi-disciplinary meetings with representation across the TPDPS teams
* Supporting the clinical support and audit teams with escalated case queries
* Undertaking clinical assessments for applicants to the TPDS scheme
Job Requirements:
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the TPDPS Assessment Guide and Clinical Governance guidance notes
* Determine the permanence of an applicant's condition and their percentage disablement based on available evidence
* Quality check submitted reports against audit criteria determined by Clinical Governance and the Victims Payment Board
* Provide advice to clinical assessors, auditors, and clinical support to enable them to continually develop in their role
Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years post-registration experience as a medical doctor
* Fully registered with the GMC without sanction or conditions of practice
* Demonstrable background in Mental Health/Psychiatric specialty
* Valid full driving licence and access to a car
