Accountant required to cover a maternity contract
Role reports into Accounts Manager
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting in the preparation of monthly accounts from initiation right through to sign off in the area of profit & loss, balance sheet
2. Preparation of Monthly Accruals/Prepayment/Stock Journals
3. Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Nominal Analysis
4. Preparation of quarterly accounting information, to include Cost Centre/Departmental Reporting
5. Monitoring compliance with corporate policies, re Cash Management
6. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Cash Reconciliations from various depots
7. Preparation / filing VAT3/VAT RTD/Intra Stat and other statutory returns
8. Preparation of monthly cash reports.
9. Preparation of budgets / forecasts.
10. Work individually and as part of a team to generate efficiency in the use of finance-related IT systems, utilising the ERP and consolidation systems to their full potential
11. Other ad hoc duties/projects as may arise
Qualification:
12. Qualified accountant of 3 years or more
13. Have audit experience
14. Proficiency in use of MS Excel and Word
15. Ability to organize work effectively and meet deadlines
16. Demonstrated analytical and communication skills
17. Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Ambitious and driven.
20. Have own transport
