Project Engineer - Highways and Active Travel Position
Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is a leading Irish-owned consultancy with expertise in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, and Renewables. Our services include design and contract management for infrastructure projects like roads, greenways, active travel, bridges, railways, waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage systems, water treatment facilities, airports, tunnels, and gas pipelines.
We are seeking a Project Engineer-Highways and Active Travel to join our Sustainable Infrastructure team in our Cork, Dublin, or Carlow offices. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in designing and delivering highways, greenways, and active travel projects.
This role offers the opportunity to broaden your skillset and work on various project types, including national roads, greenways, active travel projects, and major highway design and build schemes. As a Project Engineer, you will have a clear path for career development to a Senior Project Engineer role. You will also be eligible to participate in our Path to Chartership Programme and Mentorship Programme.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design highways, active travel, and greenways projects
* Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, ecologists, and environmental scientists within the company
* Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems
* Comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation
* Take ownership of issues and engage the team to find the best solution
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
* At least 2 years of post-graduate experience in designing highways, greenways, or active travel projects
* Experience using design standards, such as TII, DMURS, and Cycle Design Manual, is advantageous
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
* Efficient work methods, both individually and as part of a team
* Ability to adapt quickly to new procedures and systems
* Possess a valid full driver's license
