Vacancy for DRI Membership Manager at Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI)

Applications are invited for the position of Membership Manager at the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) based at the Royal Irish Academy (RIA). The Membership Manager is a central role at the DRI, responsible for managing DRI’s membership programme and responding to member needs. This is a one-year special-purpose contract with the possibility of extension based on organisational requirements.
The key accountabilities are:
1. Serve as the liaison for DRI’s current and potential members, guiding new members from application through invoicing to announcement.
2. Build a membership database/customer relationship management system to monitor member engagement and deposits, and report on requirements and membership development.
3. Work with members to assess their current needs, plan for future needs (technical, archival, educational, policy) and liaise with appropriate DRI staff to meet those needs.
4. Liaise with the DRI Training and Engagement Manager to identify training needs and materials and assist with training.
5. Chair DRI’s membership taskforce, setting meetings, monitoring action items, providing reports and/or discussion points to the Director or DRI staff meeting as appropriate.
6. Organise member events (e.g. Members’ Forum, coffee mornings).
7. Contribute to DRI taskforces, reports, project proposals and other DRI duties as assigned.
The essential qualifications are:
1. Degree in an area relevant to DRI’s remit, e.g. humanities, social sciences, information, librarianship/archival studies, data management or equivalent.
2. Significant demonstrable experience working in the higher education or cultural sector, ideally in a research or research support role.
3. Skills and expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital preservation, digital repositories, archives or libraries, digital humanities or digital social sciences, digital cultural heritage, research data management, metadata.
4. Evidence of skills in landscape analysis and strategic planning.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, with evidence of experience in stakeholder engagement.
6. Experience in organising events, from planning through design to delivery.
