Job Description
At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people by solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a dedicated Lead Process Engineer to join our talented team at our office located in Cork, Ireland.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes and supporting utilities on a scale that can range from developmental pilot plants to full commercial production.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Produces conceptual design deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances.
* Estimates utility requirements for new manufacturing processes, design utilities generation, and distribution systems.
* Generates Process P&IDs (preferably on AutoCAD) that include controls strategy and CIP/SIP functions, if appropriate.
* Generates P&IDs for critical utility systems, such as WFI, USP Purified water, and Clean Steam.
* Performs engineering studies for expanding, improving, or automating existing facilities with limited supervision.
* Produces specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation.
* Makes use of and participates in the development of company design and production tools, including process simulation and smart P&IDs.
* Assumes ownership of the process-related aspects of a portion of a large project or an entire small project, and provides technical support to the design team.
* Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with clients and members of the IPS design team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* 10+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years in process design, preferably in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
* Knowledge of cGMPs as they affect process design and equipment specification.
This position is a safety-sensitive position involving field work and activities at client sites in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other non-administrative areas.
