Position Description
Aghada Power Station is managed, maintained, and operated to strict efficiency, environmental, and availability standards in a competitive commercial market.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with Industrial Emissions Licence, Green House Gas Permit, and maintaining ISO 14001 accreditation.
* Review site projects compliance with IEL/GHG permit at concept stage and follow through to delivery and integration with existing EMS/IELGHG.
* Ensure compliance with relevant Environmental legislation, accredited external standards, and general corporate and GT standards and guidelines.
* Advise station management of instances requiring notification to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
* Coordinate on-site sampling, monitoring, and reporting in accordance with licence conditions and for operational performance.
* Provide Environmental metrics, timely reports to EPA, Corporate, G&T/EMPEMP Quarterly KPI's on Environment compliance, CSRD (Corporate), monthly and annual returns to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
* Liaise with members of the public, professional bodies, and suppliers on compliance & legal related issues.
* Ensure compliance with Chemistry and Safety company standards, including legionella control.
* Performing regular inspections, audits & assessments to identify and evaluate potential on-site environmental & safety hazards.
* Manage Chemical Inventory, Storage, and control on site.
* Review risk assessments, method statements & prepare work permits for Environmental/Chemistry contractors.
* Training of operatives/staff including training staff on emissions compliance and good waste management practices and other required training, as necessary.
Experience and Qualifications
* A third-level qualification in Environment, chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience.
* Knowledge & experience of ISO14001.
* IE (Industrial Emissions) Licences & GHG permits.
* Specialist knowledge of Health, Chemical Safety, and Environment Legislation & Standards.
* Strong administration/computer skills & commercial, communication Inter-personal skills.
* Must have experience managing contractors from an Environmental, Chemistry, and safety perspective.
* Must have a proven record of accomplishment in managing projects and delivering results.
* Hold a full valid driving licence, access to a car, and valid to drive in Ireland.
