Social Care Leader Job Description
The role of the Social Care Leader (SCL) is to work directly with the Centre Management Team to assist in ensuring the day‐to‐day management of the residential centre. The SCL will retain an integral practice role and ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to young people. The role will encompass administrative duties as well as responsibilities pertaining to the progression and practice of the staff team and the implementation of Placement Plan objectives for young people; ensuring that they are receiving the agreed quality and quantity services.

Qualifications: A Bachelor (Ord/Hons) or MA/MSc in any of the following fields:
* QQI Level 8 in Psychology
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling / Psychotherapy
* QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
* QQI Level 7 in Youth and Community or similar
* QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies/ Social Care
* QQI Level 7 in Family Support
* Professional Qualification in Teaching (Not TEFL)
* Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
* QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
* BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
* Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
Requirements:
* A full, clean drivers’ licence, valid in Ireland.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of the National Standards in Children’s Residential Centres and Children’s First.
* Ability to work with young people and challenging behaviour.
* Passion to support young people who have experienced trauma in their lives.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience of working at social care grade with young people/children in residential settings.
Social Care Leader Salary - €43,000 - €46,000 per annum.
