Job Overview:
We are seeking a Data Architect to join a newly formed team in Dublin office. This team is focused on developing a cutting-edge big-data analytics platform that will support data pipelines for new commercial products. The role involves designing data models, optimizing ETL pipelines, and ensuring data governance while leveraging cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Databricks, and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and execute the data engineering strategy and architecture roadmap.
2. Design data models, schemas, and storage solutions to support scalable and efficient data processing.
3. Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and data integration processes.
4. Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Evaluate and select data management tools and technologies based on scalability and cost-effectiveness.
6. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data architects and data engineers.
7. Collaborate with business and IT teams to align data solutions with business needs.
8. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data architecture and big data solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
2. Strong proficiency in data modeling, relational and NoSQL database design.
3. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, PySpark, etc.).
4. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
5. Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, etc.).
6. Experience in data governance, quality management, and privacy regulations.
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake.
2. Experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, and related Big Data technologies.
3. Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies.
4. Exposure to ML/AI model development and deployment.
5. Knowledge of healthcare industry standards such as EDI, HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR.
