On behalf of our Manufacturing Client in Shannon, we are currently sourcing a Production Maintenance Technician to join their Team.
This role is a permanent immediate start position reporting to the Production Manager.
This is a straight day’s position: 7.00am to 4.00pm Mon – Thurs and 7.00am to 1.00pm on Friday.
Duties:
1. Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of all production-related equipment in the Production areas, including printers, print and apply, Pax Engines, bar code readers, scanners, weight checkers, vision systems, glue machines, conveyors, label applicators, vibrating hoppers, and outer carton machines.
2. Providing production support, working to tight deadlines, and attending production meetings.
3. Calibration of weight checkers and print and apply applicators (Zebra ZT410/ZE500); experience with cams, gear motors, drives, and pulleys.
4. Ensuring the smooth running of automated packaging machines to maximize output over two shifts, adhering to strict production targets.
5. Changeover of machines to suit different pack sizes.
6. Implementation of a proactive preventative maintenance program including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance.
7. Analysis and reporting of downtime to maximize line efficiency.
8. Proactive approach to continuous improvements to maximize output, including continuous online monitoring of machines to aid in reporting equipment uptime/downtime.
9. Electro-mechanical repairs.
10. Identifying critical parts and maintaining efficient records and stock control of all such parts.
11. Compliance with ISO 13485-2016 and maintenance of appropriate procedures.
12. Troubleshooting and maintaining an agreed stock control of spare parts.
13. Maintenance of all on-site plant and equipment.
14. Performing validation of new equipment (FAT/IQ/OQ/PQ/SQ).
15. Working with cross-functional teams both on-site and at corporate level in the design and approval of artworks for new and existing products.
16. Set up of new machinery and advising on best fits.
17. Responsible for all facilities within the organization.
18. Responsible for all company SLA’s (Service Level Agreements).
19. Working closely with all service providers to ensure that all SLA’s are implemented and maintained.
20. Training of new maintenance staff, including evening/night machine setters/operators.
21. Conformance to all GMP/GDP procedures and policies while working within a clean room environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with work-related experience in a senior role in a medical device or pharmaceutical company, or equivalent.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media; tactful and confident at all levels, internal and external.
3. Passion for data, analysis, trends, and reporting; ability to read and interpret documents.
4. Ability to write clearly and informatively, including technical documentation, routine reports, correspondence, procedures, and workflows; present numerical data effectively.
5. Excellent IT skills; knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage.
