Could you be the full-time Project Manager we’re looking for?
Overview
Provide & report to the Lead Project Manager / Project Director with clear and precise feedback on the status of project items in line with the Project Management Plan and Programme.
Support to the Tendering Department for the production of Alstom bids in line with the tendering procedure.
Main Responsibilities
1. Ensure the project is undertaken in line with Alstom Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
2. Maintain a high standard in all areas for the delivery of the project in accordance with Alstom, the Client, Suppliers, Contractors, Stakeholders, Partners (internally or externally) Policies & Procedures.
3. Effectively manage resources, people, time, plant, materials and subcontractors in line with the project plan.
4. Ensure nominated staff raise and authorise purchase requisitions in line with Alstom policies & procedures.
5. Attend regular client meetings on project progress.
6. Hold regular meetings with suppliers and the Project Team to manage progress and performance.
7. Undertake regular team briefs and workshops with Site Managers/Supervisors.
8. Produce written reports, accident investigation, monthly progress reports etc.
9. Develop & maintain a strong delivery culture with all site staff.
10. Ensure the project is completed to meet Group Standards (subject to contract of conditions).
11. Undertake various site audits across Alstom.
12. Manage internal interfaces, testing, design & installation.
13. Ensure that a comprehensive daily diary of site activities and events is kept for each project.
14. Manage all of the projects Test logs.
15. Ensure the Project Risk Management process is regularly and accurately maintained.
16. Identify key variation to contract.
17. Undertake any travelling (where applicable) that may be necessary under the terms of your contract. To refer to shift working arrangements, where applicable.
18. Project close out.
Educational Requirements
Mandatory:
19. General Certificate of Secondary Education qualification or equivalent in Maths and English
20. Completion & qualification of various Health & Safety courses.
21. Completion & qualification of various Environmental courses.
22. Valid/Working towards Personal Track Safety, Safe Pass and Construction Skills Register certification.
23. Association of Project Managers accredited training course.
24. Working Knowledge of the PSCS requirements
Desirable:
25. Membership of a related Professional Body.
26. Risk Management training.
27. The practitioner level of Association of Project Managers.
28. Degree or Higher National Diploma
29. Understanding of The Railway Safety Act 2005
Experience:
Mandatory:
30. Familiarisation of contract conditions.
31. An extensive experience of the planning process.
32. Awareness of customer standards.
33. Awareness of procurement process.
34. Understanding of objectives setting.
35. Producing reports to a high standard.
36. Demonstrate an understanding of Design & Testing.
37. Computer skills, including Primavera and Sure Track, along with excellent communication skills.
38. Understanding of management systems.
39. Knowledge of quantified risk assessments.
40. To hold any necessary certification that the client deems essential.
41. Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
