The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area.

NIGHT SUPERVISOR - Clinical Nurse Manager II (CNMII)
Ref: 16/2025
Permanent Full-Time (75 hours per fortnight)
Location: Upton Campus and Sector 3 Community Residential Services, Cork
The Purpose
1. Be a member of the Services Team to provide effective leadership and management of night services.
2. Be responsible for ensuring the service delivered is to a high standard.
3. As a member of the Management Team participate in discussions on the future shape of the overall service and in particular the service systems at night.
4. The Services are currently engaged in a restructuring process which involves transition for some of the people supported from a campus based to community based service.
5. In addition to the nightly supervisory function the Night Supervisor will be required to be a proactive member of the management team in implementing this transition by contributing to the planning and implementation of the proposed structural plan. The progression from campus to community based residential services will require the Night Supervisor to broaden their work base in order to support staff at various community locations and the postholder will be required to respond appropriately to these changing service needs/emergency situations.
As a member of the Services Team, the postholder will ensure that the interests of each person supported are paramount in discussions. Emphasis will be on forming a team approach involving people supported, families, key-workers, advocates and staff on all relevant issues.
Reporting to: Area Manager or other authorised person as the Employing Authority may designate.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
1. Candidates must:
* Possess a level 8 or higher health related 3rd level qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework in nursing.
* As a qualified nurse maintain live annual registration in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) - An Bórd Altranais.
* A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience of working with adults/children with an intellectual disability/autism in a Residential setting is essential.
* Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
* Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Applicants must be flexible to meet the requirements of the service.
* Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems as all reporting will be by electronic means.
* Possess a full clean Driver’s licence which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads with means of transport.
Age:
The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018 set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants.
Health:
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character:
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Hours of Work:
75 hours per fortnight for the post worked over a 14 day. Starting and finishing time will vary depending on the requirements of the night services.
Salary Scale: €60,854 - €76,897 per annum (1/3/25 Consolidated Scales).
Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
