AWS Enterprise Support, Technical Account Managers (TAM) support our customers’ creative and transformative spirit of innovation across all technologies, including Compute, Storage, Database, Big Data, Application-level Services, Networking, Serverless, Deployment, Security and more.
This is not a sales role, but rather an opportunity to be the principal technical advisor and ‘voice of the customer’ to organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises.
The Role
As a trusted advisor you’ll have a direct impact in helping our customers gain the most value from cloud technology. You’ll craft and execute strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of AWS services. This includes a range of products including EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, CloudFront CDN, IoT and many more.
Our Technical Account Managers partner with some of the most iconic businesses in the country. These range from rising startups building their business from scratch through to large enterprises going through significant transformation. You’ll provide advice on architecture, support strategy, project, and launch planning as well as ongoing operational issues.
Key job responsibilities
1. You’ll build solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for the customer
2. Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity
3. Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges
4. Using your technical acumen and customer obsession, you’ll drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management
5. Consult with a range of partners from developers through to C-suite executives
6. Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers
7. With a bias for action, you'll proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS
8. Provide detailed reviews of service disruptions, metrics, detailed pre-launch planning
9. Solve a variety of problems across different customers as they migrate their workloads to the cloud
10. Uplift customer capabilities by running workshops, brown bag sessions, etc.
As we continue to rapidly expand in EMEA, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop your technical, consulting and leadership skills. You’ll work with talented cloud technologists whilst expanding your knowledge of AWS products. You’ll also have the chance to receive mentorship and gain AWS certifications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience as a technical account manager, consultant, solutions architect, platform engineer, systems engineer, cloud architect or in a similar role
2. Experience in technical engineering
3. Bachelor's degree
4. Working with engineering/ technology teams for large customers or a major segment of a large entity in the Public Sector, Enterprise or Start-up industry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Leading technical internal enterprise teams or external customer-facing experience with C-suite influence
2. Professional oral and written communication skills, presenting to an audience containing one or more decision maker(s)
3. Experience in operational services or support environment
4. Experience in Automotive and/or Manufacturing industries
5. Experience in influencing management stakeholders on technical, operational or business strategic decisions
6. Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings
