About the Role: We are actively recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter. In your role as Fitter for the Service and Repairs division, you will be responsible for the installation and service of mechanical equipment on our water and wastewater contracting sites along with some of our industrial sites.
Duties & Responsibilities: Carrying out mechanical installation & service of all types of pumps, blowers, screens, gearboxes, and other mechanical assets in the water and wastewater industry.Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical plant operations and the ability to carry out routine planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.Clearly identify mechanical faults and determine how to resolve them, including identifying required parts.Present evidence that tasks assigned are completed to the relevant person running the job.For unfamiliar plant items, request O & M manuals and part lists in advance of attending the site to investigate faults or carry out planned service.Serve as a mechanical/electrical supervisor for onsite works unless otherwise confirmed for specific jobs, ensuring efficient job completion within the allocated time, without compromising H & S or quality.Identify shared equipment (Confined Space equipment, Hiab, shared tools, etc.) needed for specific jobs and organize to have this equipment available for collection.Complete daily reports where required, clearly identifying works that took place, materials used, and time on site.Skills Requirement: Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and manuals.Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and fix mechanical issues.Attention to Detail: Precision in performing maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.Teamwork: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with support from the Service division in Mallow Head Office.If you wish to discuss the role in confidence, please get in touch via email at ****** or call
