Financial Accountant Role Overview: Initially being offered on a contract basis, this role is with a leading semi-state in West Dublin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for management accounts, financial returns, fixed assets, and training, providing operational and personnel support.
Responsibilities: Preparation of monthly management accounts with emphasis on variance analysis and KPIs.
Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
Management of debtors/creditors journals, nominal ledgers, reconciliations, and control accounts.
Providing assistance to the Financial Controller or their nominee on ad-hoc projects.
Preparing reports for the parent Department on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Preparing RCT returns.
Assisting with the implementation of a new Financial Management System, including data testing, data migration, and parallel running of systems.
Assisting with the preparation of manuals and training staff on the new system.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller or nominee.
Qualifications & Experience: Essential: A recognized third-level qualification at a minimum level of NFQ Level 7, or equivalent.
A full Category B driving licence valid in Ireland.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Excellent working knowledge of financial management systems.
Experience with Fixed Asset Registers.
Management Accounts experience.
Desirable: Experience in project management.
Relevant knowledge and/or experience of public sector finance.
