Senior Engineer Role in Sustainable Development
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our civil team on a project in South Dublin, working under our Framework Agreement with Dunlaoghaire Rathdown County Council.
The Glenamuck District Distributor Road Scheme involves constructing 890m of four-lane dual carriageway, 1800m of dual carriageway, upgrading existing junctions, and managing structures, drainage, utilities, Accommodation Works, and traffic and pedestrian management on live roads.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Create a programme and budget with your manager, synchronizing labour and plant budgets, identifying critical path activities, and prioritizing day-to-day tasks.
* Ensure works comply with contract documents and relevant instructions.
* Analyze problem areas, develop strategies, and implement solutions, particularly those affecting cost or program implications.
* Organize resources efficiently and effectively.
* Manage information flow and documentation, preparing technical, financial, contractual, and administrative documents on time.
* Conduct weekly site meetings, delegate tasks, and provide feedback.
* Monitor outputs, quantities, critical activities, and costs weekly, providing feedback to the Tendering department.
* Manage project cash flow with the PQS and manager, adhering to Commercial Procedures Manual.
* Report monthly on progress, costs, variations, delays, and other issues.
* Negotiate and let subcontract and supplier packages with the PQS, manager, and purchasing department.
* Implement Quality Management System and Safety Management System on site.
* Maintain safe operations and personnel on site.
* Review and approve temporary works methods.
* Maintain good relations with the client's team, keeping them informed of plans, claims, and delays.
Requirements
* Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Construction/Engineering/Logistics.
* Proven track record in delivering construction/civils/logistics operations.
* Management skills, including control and management of employees.
* Commercial awareness and excellent organizational skills.
* Excellent communication and customer-focused skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to work.
* Ability to work as part of a team to deliver departmental and project objectives.
