Profile Summary -
Reporting to the board of directors and senior management, the Financial Controller will manage the day-to-day operations and strategic financial planning of the Finance Department for a large diverse and multifaceted Irish group (‘the Group’). The Group is involved in a number of different business sectors, including hospitality, service provisions and real estate development. The Group based in Co. Louth has annual turnover in excess of €50m and has developed a strong business growth strategy to become a leading Irish group.
Key Duties and Responsibilities -
1. Pro-active contribution to the Group’s overall business lines and motivated towards achieving the Group’s strategic ambitions.
2. Liaising with the board of directors and key management personnel, in terms of developing efficient and effective financial reporting structures.
3. Implementing and maintaining robust internal control systems across the Group.
4. Financial lead on all financial matters and strategic financial planning.
5. Support business growth initiatives with the senior executive team by way of financial evaluation and strategic impact analysis.
6. Oversee and mentor the existing finance team within the Group.
7. Strong understanding of technology and AI assisted tools to analyse data in real time and ability to evaluate valuable business insights.
8. Preparation of monthly group reporting financials and KPI’s, including consolidated Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cashflows and other supporting financial metrics analysis.
9. Monthly budget and forecasting, including analysis of budgeted versus actual for analytical and timely review for effective decision making.
10. Assistance with tax related matters - including VAT, Payroll Taxes and Corporation Tax, including compliance with tax deadlines.
11. Compliance with laws and regulations across the Group, including the implementation of relevant risk registers, control procedures and structures.
12. Implementing group-wide policy procedures, overseeing their implementation and analysing success reviews.
13. Manage and support the annual statutory audit for the Group.
Requirements -
1. Ambitious, confident with strong financial management knowledge and analytical skills.
2. Experience in implementing and integrating key IT platforms that create reliable and efficient financial data on a timely basis.
3. Experience in the hospitality and service sector from a financial management and reporting perspective.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and key reporting requirements.
5. Ability to implement Group accounting policies and ensure they are applied consistently.
6. Ability to work as a part of a team and involvement in ad-hoc financial projects that may arise.
7. Strong project management skills and team leading abilities to create valuable change.
8. Ability to continually identify improvement opportunities and implement new or improved workflows.
9. Travelling between the Group's business locations within Ireland will be required.
10. ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified with a minimum of 7 years experience (at least 3 in a senior financial controller role) for a medium to large sized industry organisation.
Salary: Attractive salary and package in excess of €100,000
Hybrid working arrangements may also be considered.
