ABOUT THE JOB: We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead the management & further development of our risk, compliance and data privacy functions.
Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer and based in our Head Office in Swords, Co. Dublin, the successful candidate will possess relevant experience implementing best practice frameworks.
You will have excellent organisational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and excellent influencing skills.
You will drive the delivery of effective risk management practices to facilitate the business in achieving its strategic targets and ensuring continuous improvement of a robust internal control environment to mitigate the risks to which the company is exposed, in addition to adherence to all internal policies and relevant laws & regulations.
YOUR JOB your tasks will include: Compliance Planning Develop and manage the Harvey Norman Ireland Risk and Compliance Framework and plan in conjunction with the corporate risk management team.
Undertake risk assessments in both head office, retail, and digital operations to determine the functional work areas that exhibit the highest risk, with projects designed to manage and control the relevant environment.
Manage Risk Register.
Data Protection Manage Data Privacy & GDPR impacts across the business, manage Subject Access Requests, Data Privacy Impact Assessments across the business, map Data Processing Activity and provide support to departments in assessing risks within their business unit.
Provide training and audit of compliance with GDPR.
Compliance and Governance - including Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, examples include data protection, advertising standards, consumer regulations, environmental codes and ethical standards.
Project Management - Complete all assigned projects in line with the agreed scope and objectives.
Responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of Harvey Norman regulatory framework and compliance programme with other key stakeholders.
Procedure Development - Develop, in consultation with other key stakeholders, appropriate policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with legislation and best practice in the regulatory environment.
Legal Involvement in any regulatory reviews in conjunction with the CFO, Heads of Departments, and legal representatives.
Manage GDPR /Data Protection obligations and reporting.
Provide support to Head Office teams advise of impact and adherence to relevant legislation.
Business Continuity Planning Manage the BCP for HN Ireland.
Training Develop, and provide where required, training for both retail and head office staff in their regulatory obligations.
Lift awareness and skill levels of staff in these areas.
Auditing - Collect and analyse data across all retail and head office departments to assess the effectiveness of the compliance/risk management framework and address deficient controls, non-compliance with legal requirements and/or company policies.
Risk Management and Mitigation: Advise management on risk mitigation strategies and the design of internal controls.
Reporting - Prepare accurate, comprehensive and timely reports which set out any breaches, together with findings and recommendations made from audits, for relevant managers and the Executive Management Committee.
UK : Following the recent expansion of Harvey Norman in the UK this position will provide support to the UK management team to implement the corporate framework for the UK market.
YOUR PROFILE your knowledge, skills and experience include: 2-3+ years experience working in a compliance/regulatory role.
Experience of managing Data Privacy and GDPR compliance.
Data Protection Lead.
An understanding and clear appreciation of the importance of compliance & risk.
An ability to identify key tasks and prioritise effectively.
Experience in implementing a risk-based compliance plan.
Data Protection Certification.
Project Management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to think strategically, prioritise effectively & balance competing deadlines and stakeholders.

Additional Information: This is a permanent contract subject to a six-month probationary period.
This role is based in our Head Office in Swords, Co. Dublin.
Limited travel within Ireland will be required.
