Senior Project Sustainability Engineer (LEED AP)

About the job:
As a Senior Project Sustainability Engineer (LEED AP), you will leverage your advanced technical knowledge in sustainability and building services to ensure projects meet the latest regulations and standards, including LEED, WELL, BREEAM, and HPI. In this role, you will be at the forefront of sustainability engineering, managing medium to large-scale projects with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes. Your responsibilities will include overseeing project execution, ensuring quality, and managing junior staff, providing mentorship and quality assurance to maintain high standards.
About you:
1. 5+ years of experience as a sustainability engineer/consultant or related position
2. Degree in a construction/environmental/engineering or related field desirable with proven performance in sustainability
3. Initiates the process of working towards achieving Chartered Engineer status
4. Experience and high technical knowledge in sustainability and building services
5. Up to date with all relevant regulations
6. Knowledgeable in LEED, WELL, BREEAM, and HPI requirements
7. Possesses high-level project management skills
8. Capable of performing quality assurance (QA)
9. Ability to manage junior staff
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Manage and guide the development and work of junior staff, ensuring project milestones are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
2. Build and nurture strong client relationships by understanding their needs, setting clear expectations, and delivering solutions that meet or exceed their goals.
3. Comprehend and adhere to contract terms and conditions, ensuring all project activities align with contractual obligations.
4. Strategically delegate tasks to optimise project efficiency and value, balancing workloads among team members.
5. Oversee the quality assurance system within projects, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
6. Regularly update the management team on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
7. Contribute to the preparation of proposals, defining project scopes and objectives to secure new business opportunities.
8. Represent the company at industry events, including speaking engagements and training sessions, while also producing expert content to enhance the firm's profile.
9. Promote a positive message about the company's commitment to sustainability both internally and externally, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
10. Register projects on designated platforms efficiently.
11. Process and send invoices to Project Managers, including BERs invoices and client billings.
12. Expand energy statements and CRDs to meet client and regulatory authority requirements.
13. Contribute to proposal writing with guidance from senior staff.
14. Demonstrate extensive experience and high technical proficiency in sustainability and building services.
15. Apply in-depth knowledge of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building systems.
16. Utilise industry-standard software and tools for energy modelling and sustainability assessments.
17. Stay current with evolving sustainability regulations, standards, and best practices.
