About The Fleet
The Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar. It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner’s for decades. The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley’s Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905.
Role Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To provide a warm, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to our guests, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and maintained at all times in line with our guest expectations.
Reports to: Bar Manager / Duty Managers.
Food & Beverage Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.
2. Ensure that guests are seated and provided with menus promptly.
3. Ensure that all guests’ requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively.
4. Familiarise yourself with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available.
5. Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
6. Ensure an efficient and safe delivery of all food and beverage orders.
7. Set up, clear and promptly service tables after use.
8. Ensure the restaurant areas are clean and well presented at all times.
9. Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner.
10. Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with agreed procedures.
11. Assist in the set up and preparation, and provide service duties for functions as required.
12. Support the kitchen staff as and when required.
13. Ensure that all front of house and guest areas are well maintained at all times.
14. Any other duties as directed by the Operations Manager, Duty Manager, Food & Beverage Supervisor or other member of the management team.
Requirements
Key Requirements for the role:
1. Experience of working in a similar role and/or environment (preferably in a 4-star setting within the hotel, leisure or hospitality industry would be a distinct advantage).
2. Basic Food Hygiene knowledge (desirable).
3. Accurate and efficient cash handling skills.
4. High standard of personal presentation.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Courteous and pleasant attitude towards guests and colleagues.
7. Good attention to detail.
8. Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend and evening work will be required).
9. Proof of eligibility to work in Ireland.
