Job Description:
Our client, an established hospital in Dublin, is currently recruiting a Clinical Nurse Facilitator Theatre (CNF) to join their team.
The successful candidate will provide education, training, and support to all members of staff. The CNF will facilitate professional development, encourage lifelong learning, and foster an appropriate climate for learning within the clinical environment.
In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Managers, the CNF will identify learning needs at ward level and develop effective learning activities to meet those needs.
The position requires a collaborative and supportive approach to the development of services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and the implementation of changes necessary to achieve organisational objectives.
Responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring standards of nursing care provided and problem-solving clinical nursing concerns.
2. Being available to patients, relatives, and visitors to provide necessary support, education, reassurance, and clinical and allied clinical information.
3. Attending and participating in development programmes on an ongoing basis and sharing knowledge with other members of the nursing team.
4. Assisting with the orientation and induction of new staff and providing orientation as deemed necessary.
5. Assisting in the training of nursing support staff.
6. Identifying and informing the ADON nurse education and practice development of any training and professional development requirements.
7. Attending all mandatory training days and ensuring that all mandatory training is up to date.
Criteria:
• Candidates MUST be registered with NMBI and have full work permits.
• At least 3-5 years recent post-registration nursing experience as a peri-operative nurse, including anaesthesia, PACU, General Surgery, orthopaedic/trauma experience also desirable.
• A recognised post-registration nursing course relevant to theatre services.
• Hold an up-to-date ACLS course or be in pursuit of same.
• Hold a management qualification or be in pursuit of same.
• Hold a teaching qualification or be in pursuit of same.
• Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills.
• Can do attitude.
• Work on own initiative or as part of a team.
• Approachable manner.
