The role
Standard Life are expanding the marketing function and as a result a Communications Manager role has arisen. This key role will focus on the communication with Advisers and Customers, deliver marketing campaigns, projects and initiatives within the relevant area of control which ensures our propositions, messaging and communications enhance Standard Life's corporate brand and reputation and achieve sustained competitive advantage. To ensure all activities are aligned to overall business goals in maintaining and growing our funds under management.
With a strong understanding of impact of raising our share of voice, the successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous improvement of our communications strategy. Our business is in an exciting period of strengthening our Marketing function and in order to do this we are looking for like-minded marketing focused people like you to join our team with in the BI&A and Marketing area which will look at driving positive action and results for our advisers and customer through the development of our communication strategy.
What are we looking for?
Reporting directly to the Head of BI&A and Marketing, the successful candidate will be responsible for a team of three marketers who will design and execute our direct marketing and email campaigns, digital and social strategy and events. This role will also have a strong influence on our PR and Trade activation. The candidate will be mindful of compliance and the rules guiding our communications strategy and ensure the team adhere and deliver best in class Marcoms.
We will expect this individual to provide leadership in Communications strategy, guiding the team to deliver. Measuring success will be key and setting the benchmark in Year 1 will enable the communications strategy to improve its effectiveness. The role holder will help to challenge the thinking of the team and our internal clients, with a primary focus on increasing our engagement with advisers and customers. The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to communicate and influence across all business areas and at a variety of levels.
To deliver in this role the candidate will have.
Campaign experience and understand the role data and messaging plays in improving audience engagement.
Knowledge of websites and how to integrate web content into the brand story.
Understanding of the role, limitations and ability to push the boundaries on social marketing within a highly regulated financial service industry
Strong appreciation of the regulation that governs the MarComs process and influence stakeholders to follow best practice.
Work with the digital marketer to migrate our current website to a new platform and introduce new and efficient ways of working with the Digital team and internal stakeholders.
Role Deliverables:
Digital and Social Strategy
Implement a programme of continuous improvement on the websites to ensure we are delivering excellent visitor experiences.
Work with the digital marketer to design and implement a social marketing strategy that supports our brand and raises its position in the market.
Direct Marketing
Work with the Email marketer and BI&A team to design and implement a direct communications strategy that positions and supports our propositions on Second Life and Retirement Specialist
Identify opportunities to strengthen the relationships we have with advisers and customers through tailored communications.
Curate valuable content to be shared with our segments in-line with business objectives.
Event Management
Take event briefs from other members of the Marketing team and work with our Events exec to deliver
Design campaigns to support the events to maximise attendance, follow up and value for time for our advisers
Identify opportunities for more events based on communication engagement
Risk Management
Ensure the Communications team are familiar with the rules and regulations for MarComs and deliver best in class
Work with other teams such as UK Marketing, Group Internal Audit and Compliance to ensure we are up to speed and equally challenging where regulation is limiting us
