About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Global Procurement Category Manager to lead our IT Software procurement strategy on a global scale, with a particular focus on innovative software solutions.
As a key leader in our procurement team, you will drive the procurement strategy for cutting-edge software technologies that shape the future of our business.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise spend, ensure supplier innovation, and deliver high-impact solutions across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement global procurement strategies for the IT Software category, with a specific focus on innovative software solutions and embedded software technologies.
* Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for these specialised software categories, from identifying requirements to negotiating contracts, supplier selection, and performance management.
* Drive cost efficiencies, innovation, and process improvements across the IT Software procurement function, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving technological landscape.
* Foster strong, strategic relationships with key software vendors.
* Collaborate with internal teams such as IT, R&D, and product development to understand technical requirements and ensure software solutions meet business needs.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations, particularly in highly technical areas such as software licensing and intellectual property.
* Monitor and analyse market trends and emerging software technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
Requirements
* Proven experience (5+ years) in global procurement, with a focus on IT Software.
* Strong knowledge of emerging software technologies, including SaaS, cloud-based solutions, and embedded systems for hardware integration.
* Experience in sourcing and negotiating contracts for specialised software, including licensing, support, and customisation agreements.
* Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and foster innovation in the procurement process.
* Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, or a related field (CIPS or similar procurement certification is a plus).
