About The Role
Coffey requires a Wastewater Operation and Maintenance Regional Supervisor to oversee a bundle of wastewater treatment plants and pump stations in the Clare/Limerick area with regular travel within the locality and to our Athenry head office as required.
The role will require a diligent candidate with a strong work ethic, capable of working on their own initiative with strong problem-solving skills. The candidate will be required to represent the company, engaging stakeholders and colleagues in a professional manner at all times.
Responsibilities:
1. Process and equipment operation to ensure optimum plant performance and compliance with contractual requirements.
2. Manual plant operational duties as required, including assisting with bulk deliveries to, and removals from the plant.
3. Calibration and testing of plant equipment, alarms, and instrumentation in accordance with CMMS, Vendor recommendations, and/or contractual requirements.
4. Completion of all Planned Maintenance required in accordance with CMMS and recording completion of same with CMMS.
5. Problem solving and troubleshooting mechanical, process and electrical problems and application of good working principles.
6. Timely response to plant/equipment failures with plant repair or replacement as appropriate and recording completion of same with CMMS.
7. Use of remote monitoring tools as appropriate to verify plant condition. Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same, and general availability to assist in remote troubleshooting where appropriate.
8. Upkeep of treatment facility buildings including cleaning, landscaping including all grassed areas, hedging and hard standing areas as required.
9. Suggestions to improve plant reliability and operational efficiency in conjunction with line managers.
10. Responsibility for ensuring that all work is carried out accurately and with due diligence.
11. Ensure Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and adhered to.
12. Working with operations management team to implement contract and company driven goals.
13. Represent Coffey Water at Liaison Monitoring Committee (LMC) meetings and as required with other ad hoc meetings with Employer Representatives or Government Authorities.
14. Develop and issue operational procedures and maintenance plans specific to each site under your remit.
15. Work with the O&M Manager and Coffey Commercial Manager to ensure reduced running costs, increased profits, identify commercial opportunities and to build commercial claim cases.
16. Work with Design Build Project Managers to minimize impact of upgrade works and also to manage process commissioning activities.
17. Work with the Coffey Design Department to give O&M input into WTP and WWTP designs based on O&M experience during the design phase of new WTP/WWTPs.
18. Be available for review of DB sites prior to handover into operations (Snag, nice to have, need to have lists) and to facilitate handover and training of new operatives.
19. Be responsible for operational, technical and procedural support in the handover of water/wastewater assets for operation from Coffey to IW, GWS, and LA operational management teams.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Operation and Maintenance Regional Supervisor to join our team.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
1. FETAC qualified or equivalent wastewater treatment plant operator.
2. Previous experience (2-5 years) in wastewater or water process operations would be a distinct advantage.
3. This position requires that you are flexible and available outside of the normal working week to provide/organise immediate attendance to site as required.
4. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a team and/or on own initiative.
6. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
7. Good understanding of PMS and CMMS systems an advantage.
8. Effective time management and communication skills.
9. Familiarity with standard wastewater laboratory procedures an advantage.
10. Excellent oral and written reporting skills.
11. Good understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems.
12. Attention to detail, computer skills (Word & Excel/MS Office Suite).
13. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory aspects within the wastewater industry.
14. Must possess a full clean driver's licence.
15. Fluent English with excellent written & spoken skills.
16. Ability to build effective relationships, provide leadership and engage teams to deliver on results.
17. Ability to lead and support efforts to continually improve business practices and processes to maximize business unit resources and achieve operational excellence as well as setting long range targets.
18. Ability to communicate in a professional and articulate manner to convey expectations and achieve results.
