We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare facility.
As an early years practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children in their care.
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
Wages are paid weekly.
Working day is 08:00 to 17:00 or 09:00 to 18:00.
Responsibilities:
Childcare and Development:Create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment for wobblers, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including play, art, music, storytelling, and sensory experiences, to foster learning and growth.
Observe and monitor children's behaviour, progress, and developmental milestones, reporting any concerns to the Room Supervisor or management.
Assist with toilet training, feeding, and personal care routines, ensuring the health, hygiene, and well-being of each child.
Foster positive relationships with children, providing emotional support and encouragement, and helping them develop essential life skills.
Curriculum Planning:
Collaborate with your Supervisor and team members to develop and implement a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum for the wobbler room.
Design and organize learning centers, materials, and resources, ensuring a variety of educational experiences and opportunities for exploration.
Incorporate age-appropriate educational strategies and techniques into daily activities, tailored to individual children's needs and abilities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum, making adjustments and improvements as necessary to meet the developmental goals of the children
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care for children moving between rooms or attending part-time.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a positive and supportive team environment.
Health and Safety:
Ensure a clean, safe, and child-friendly environment, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, identifying and addressing any potential hazards or concerns.
Administer first aid and medication according to established protocols, maintaining accurate records as required.
Promote and model good hygiene practices for children, including handwashing, toileting, and cleanliness.
Qualification and Skills:
Minimum qualification in Early Childcare and Education.
Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting.
Knowledge of child development principles, age-appropriate practices, and early learning frameworks.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to childcare facilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay: €14.00-€17.00 per hour
