The Opportunity We are looking for a Payments Risk Operations Strategist to join our growing payments team. This is a new global role, and will be responsible for building payment risk operations, driving process improvements and developing payment risk knowledge across the company. You will be reporting directly to the Global Head of Payment Operations, and working with the payments team to become an expert on PhorestPay and the wider payments risk landscape.
You will be the go-to person for payment risk operations, sharing best practices and setting up processes with the payments team and regional teams, while also working directly with our external partners.

What you will do Identify credit, fraud and compliance risks and trends, and develop mitigation strategiesLead implementation of third-party fraud solutions, and manage these partnershipsCreate scalable chargeback representment and arbitration process for all regions; manage chargeback rates and Notifications of FraudRefine existing fraud rules for each region and develop new rules based on fraud patterns, new typologies, etc.Develop a risk tiering for new and existing PhorestPay salons, and work with product and engineering to develop risk controlsSupport sales, onboarding, support and other customer-facing teams to develop an understanding of risk across different regions and salon business modelsDerive insights and actions from risk metrics (third-party and internal data)Who you are 4+ years in a risk operations role at a fintech, payment services provider, gaming/gambling company, marketplace/platform operator, bank, merchantDeep understanding of fraud, financial crime, AML/BSA, SCA/PSD2Proven ability to detect and analyse fraud patternsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyInterested in and curious about developments in payments and risk, with a desire to become the payments risk expert for Phorest globally, by staying on top of industry developments, customer behaviour and regulatory changesPreferred: experience with SQL, Looker, Stripe, commercial fraud prevention toolsBenefits Your wellbeing is important to us - we provide private healthcare, 2 Wellness Days, an employee assistance program and a free online GP service.
