Due to our ongoing success securing large-scale projects for 2024, we have a requirement for an experienced Building Services Mechanical Designer to join our team in the Dublin Business Unit. The Designer role is a key position in our engineering delivery team, responsible for the design and coordination of HVAC and utilities in REVIT. This is a desktop-based role with flexibility in hybrid working to work from the office or home.
Responsibilities:
1. Experience of working and being proactive within a multi-discipline design team, demonstrating technical, coordination, and detailing skills.
2. Design and coordination of Building Services Systems in accordance with local, national, and international standards and current best industry practice.
3. Attend and participate in client and PM Group meetings.
4. Provide technical support and assistance to Engineers, incorporating comments to design as required.
5. Preparation of production information drawings in Revit & AutoCAD for Detail Design meeting all project schedule/deliverable dates.
6. Implementing PM Group Quality & CAD Revit standards.
7. Develop plantroom equipment arrangements for HVAC and piped utilities based on equipment selections and schematic design.
8. Develop duct/pipe services sizing and distribution layouts based on equipment selections and schematic design.
9. Feed development of layout design back into the schematics.
10. Develop a clash-free design resolving clashes as required with other teams, disciplines, and the clash coordinator.
11. The ability to manage/mentor other Building Services Revit designers on a project.
12. The ability to run model reviews for the project teams as required.
13. Experience with the layout design of the following typical systems: HVAC including Fresh, Supply, Return, Exhaust Air ductwork and components; Specific/Process Exhausts, Fume cupboards, Nederman Arms, etc.; Chilled Water; Heating Water; Steam and Condensate; DX Split Systems; Compressed Air; Domestic Water Services and Drainage.
Qualifications:
1. Professional qualification in Building Services Engineering (Engineering Degree Preferred).
2. Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
3. Completion of Certified Revit Training and proficiency in AutoCAD/Navisworks, with clear understanding of the following for Revit: AIA BIM Protocol and BIM Forum Level of Development (LOD) Specification PAS 1192-2:2013.
4. Creation and sourcing of Revit families.
5. Duct/Pipe System and Material Type creation/customization.
6. Template requirements, View Management, Visibility Settings, View Template Set-up, Worksets, Phasing, Schedule Creation, Sheet Creation.
7. Excellent technical knowledge and draughting skills.
8. Excellent communication skills.
9. Complex industrial building experience.
