About the Land Development Agency

Purpose of Role
The Board Secretary function has responsibility for providing strategic support to the Board in matters relating to governance and legal compliance. The role facilitates efficient administration of the Board and its Committees.
Main Responsibilities
* Co-ordinate the preparation of agendas and preparatory papers for Board meetings.
* Arrange for the upload of relevant papers and manage timelines.
* Manage external company secretarial resources and contracts.
* Attend Board meetings, take minutes, and maintain records.
* Follow up on action trackers.
* Co-ordinate statutory and regulatory filings, annual returns, accounts, etc.
* Action relevant matters to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
* Assist the Board with revisiting terms of reference and reserved matters.
* Arrange for self-assessment of the Board.
Leadership
The Board Secretary will demonstrate a management style that encourages mentorship, teamwork, participation, communication, and service orientation. They will provide leadership across the organisation, focusing on business alignment, accountability for outcomes, and continuous improvement.

* Relevant qualifications to perform the role.
* Third level degree in a relevant discipline.
* Excellent insight into the broad secretarial landscape.
* Insightful understanding of the needs of an organisation like the LDA.
* Experience working as a Board Secretary or related role/s.
* Very strong leadership skills.
* Excellent communicator.
* Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills.
* Very strong collaborator with ability to navigate in a multifunctional environment.
* Action oriented.
