Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a Machine Operator within the Overheads Lines Department. ESB poling experience is desirable, with experience in construction and all relevant CSCS qualifications being essential. We are looking for an individual who is willing to travel to multiple locations; company transportation will be provided from the base location.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Crew/Team leader by having a pro-active attitude towards all tasks and follow their instructions.
2. Assure that all documentation related to the machine is always present on site and up to date and done daily/weekly.
3. Perform all works according to Company and Client Health and Safety rules, MESC’s, codes of practice, method statements, and HSA regulations.
4. Be an active part in performing the pre-work Safety Risk Assessment and Job Site Safety Plan.
5. You will be responsible for taking proper care of all tools/equipment/PPE and vehicles supplied to you by the company and report any defects found.
6. Assure to be always presentable as part of the company’s image, have a likable attitude towards your colleagues, customer representatives, and members of the public.
7. Assure site work space is in line with good housekeeping conditions.
8. Assure all works are performed within Company and Client quality, procedures, and technical requirements.
9. Report challenges and safety issues to the PICW/Supervisor.
10. Support all Team on site in helping to solve complex works.
11. Take part in training, team briefings, and tool box talks.
12. Ensure Good Catches and Near Misses are reported promptly.
To be considered for the Machine Operator position you will ideally have the following:
1. Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel and work at various customer sites.
2. Excellent communication and time management skills.
3. Must understand and speak English.
4. Reliable and flexible with the ability to use own initiative.
5. Available to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and on short notice.
6. Ability to meet the physical demands of the task at hand.
7. Commitment to health and safety.
8. Experience in construction essential.
9. Relevant CSCS qualifications essential.
10. Manual Handling and Safe Pass qualifications.
11. ESB Poling Experience desirable.
