Working within a legal/commercial services team, and alongside the internal project teams you will regularly disseminate information received on new forms of contract, consider compliance and regulatory procedures, and advise internally on commercial and construction-related matters.
The individual may be located in one of our studios (Sheffield, Glasgow, Cardiff or Belfast) or alternatively we are able to consider candidates who wish to work remotely.
Skills & Knowledge requirementsAn understanding of the construction industry, dispute resolution and construction contracts would be helpful but we are willing to consider legal candidates who are specialised in other "contract based" disciplines.The ability to draft legal documents.Must thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment, able to project manage and prioritise competing demands.Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence and negotiate.Have notable attention to detail.Possess commercial acumen and confidence in their decision-making.Possess a calm demeanour under pressure and an ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with peers and seniority.Have a flexible and pragmatic attitude and a proven ability to multi-task.Be able to deal confidently with and build strong relationships with senior business colleagues.Experience & QualificationsQualified solicitor of minimum 2 years, or alternatively with legal experience as a paralegal or legal exec of 5 years or more.Minimum of 3 A-Levels or equivalent.GCSEs with a minimum of Level 2 / GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics.We offer a blended work model with a flexible approach to studio and remote working, along with a friendly studio environment, an award-winning lifestyle package, and a commitment to your personal development through the HLM Academy.
