Midweight Interior Architect / Designer

Edit Design Studio is now welcoming applications from high-calibre intermediate Interior Designers with strong architectural design skills to join our studio to work on a range of exciting residential and hospitality projects. Our studio is based in the beautiful heritage town of Kenmare in Co Kerry. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, but you will also be required to spend days working from our studio in Kenmare.

If you would like to be considered for this position, you must have the following qualities:

1. Have a fresh design outlook; we’re looking for someone with a fun and creative design flair and original ideas.
2. Must be a creative, passionate and diligent interior designer with a keen eye for detail and a thorough way of working; being highly organised is a key part of the job.
3. Highly proficient in AutoCAD.
4. Proficiency in Sketchup and InDesign advantageous.
5. Knowledge of Programa (a design software program) advantageous.
6. Be technically minded with very strong detailing, drawing, and design skills.
7. A proactive problem solver, able to multi-task and think on your feet.
8. Excellent communication skills and excellent spoken and written English.
9. A good knowledge of suppliers and experience in sourcing FF & E and interior architectural hard finishes and fixtures from a wide spectrum of suppliers.
10. On-site construction experience liaising with suppliers and contractors and ensuring that design intent and quality are maintained to a maximum level.
11. Formal training in architecture or interior architecture with a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
12. Can-do attitude able to work individually and as part of a team.
13. Eligibility to live and work in Ireland.
14. Driving licence.

Job description and responsibilities:

1. Confidently take a project from concept to completion.
2. FF&E space planning and creative general arrangements.
3. Produce design schemes based on the client’s brief.
4. Produce sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards to communicate design ideas clearly.
5. Put together client presentations.
6. Create and develop comprehensive drawing packages for production, specification, and tender purposes.
7. Create and develop detailed specification schedules for the designed interior.
8. Source and procure FF&E packages & work on multiple projects at any one time.
9. Manage projects efficiently, within schedule and budget in close cooperation with company directors as a member of the project team.
10. Confidently meet with clients and contractors and be available to travel and visit projects countrywide.
