Exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner / Scheduler to relocate to Vancouver, BC, Canada and join the Building Division of one of Canadas Largest Main Contractors (Circa $4 Billion turnover annually) to work across a mixed portfolio of High-Rise, Commercial, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Transportation, and Educational projects.
Duties: Prepare project master schedules for high-complexity/major projects using the Critical Path Method.
Ensure contract obligations and project milestones are met, and liaise with third parties affecting timelines.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and scheduling consultants to approve project baseline schedules.
Negotiate and implement stringent scheduling specifications tailored to project complexities.
Prepare and maintain project schedule updates, including cash flow forecasts, schedule revisions, and risk registers.
Develop sophisticated schedule performance reports, including dashboards, Earned Value Analysis, S-curves, Heatmaps, and Variance Analysis.
Identify and communicate schedule risks, recommend corrective actions, and implement mitigation strategies.
Define and analyze critical and near-critical path activities, tracking schedule float.
Provide oversight for extension of time claims, working with delay analysis experts.
Develop commissioning schedules for complex projects and bid management schedules for major pursuits.
Lead planning and documentation of interfaces between design, procurement, construction, and permitting.
Oversee and prepare project schedule basis narratives, execution plans, and work area layouts.
Support project budget reviews and cash flow analysis, ensuring mitigation strategies for deviations.
Mentor junior Planners / Schedulers and support process improvements.
Requirements: Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
10+ years of Planning / Scheduling experience in buildings, industrial, civil, or infrastructure projects.
PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, EIT, CCDA, and/or CET certification is an asset.
Experience managing projects from initiation to close-out with various delivery methods (EPC, Design-Build, CM, PPP, etc.).
Strong knowledge of delay analysis techniques and experience with extension of time claims.
General Contractor experience is required.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Microsoft Project, Tilos, Powerproject, vPlanner, and 4D scheduling is an asset.
Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
